Real Hero of Gwadar is Brigadier Nadir Mir (R)

  • He made Modern Gwadar Concept in year 2000 at Headquarters 12 Corps Quetta on being posted from War Course.
  • Brigadier Nadir introduced Geo Economic Concept of linking Gwadar with Asian Hinterland including China, Central Asia and Russia with Gulf, Africa and Europe. He proposed linkup of Roads, Rails, Pipelines, Transit, Trade, Transshipment, Tourism, Financial Centre and Strategic Geopolitical leverage.
  • He carried out Land, Air and Sea reconnaissance of Makran Coast and convinced the Government for Gwadar Project. In year 2001, received Chinese Minister of Communication at Gwadar – West Bay for the first time, who said on arrival – ‘Gwadar has great strategic location.’
  • Brigadier Nadir gave detailed Gwadar Presentations to the Chief Executive, Finance Minister, Governor Baluchistan and Military High Command to get Gwadar Project moving.
  • Kept working in private capacity at National and International level.
  • Gwadar Project initiated and conceived by Brigadier Nadir Mir went into Back burner due to Internal Politics and Geopolitics. The Government which started the project could not withstand foreign pressure and internal dynamics.
  • In 2010, Brigadier Nadir’s book ‘Gwadar on the Global Chessboard’ which is the real Inspiration and Blueprint for CPEC Gwadar, was published.
  • Towards the end of ppp’s tenure, the government tried to revive the project.
  • In 2012, Brigadier Nadir Mir gave detailed Gwadar Presentation to Mr. Nawaz Sharif and Cabinet, at that time in opposition. Copies of the book were given from which CPEC Gwadar has been derived.
  • Also he discussed with General Raheel Sharif COAS who put personal efforts to ensure Gwadar Success.
  • Till date, Brigadier Nadir has worked for Gwadar at National and International level. Also wrote to President Putin, Chinese and others to join Gwadar. Chinese have made a song on his book.
  • Finally Gwadar has made history based on the book, ‘Gwadar on the Global Chessboard.’ A lot of people have contributed to Gwadar Development and many acknowledged in this book.
  • This is the True History of Gwadar. To simply credit the Dictator or Political Elite for Gwadar Development is absurd, false, distortion of history.
  • Brigadier Nadir Mir, Soldier – Scholar – Reformer, the Chairman of Pakistan National Reform Movement, is the Real Hero of Gwadar along with many others who worked ceaselessly for Pakistan’s Future.
